Tow valve install

Hello, we’ve recently moved to a different lake and we’re in the muck and Lilly pads. Best way for me to keep skiing is to tow the ski out of the channel and into the big lake. I’ve read a little about these tow valves. Does anyone have experience with them? And can someone shoot me a pic or try to describe to me where exactly it needs to be installed on my waveblaster1? I’m no mechanic so I’m just not sure where it actually goes in the ski if I do order it.

any help is appreciated.

No experience with them, but it sounds like it's just a ball valve that you put inline with the feed from the pump to the engine cooling input. Inside the hull, you should see the water/cooling hose connected to a tube that comes from the back (steel tube sticking through the bulkhead) and goes into the engine (bottom of the exhaust manifold, likely). That hose is the cooling line, and it would be the one you'd interrupt with a valve. You could also insert this valve on the pump end, but that'd mean climbing off the ski to open it.

I use these when needed..just pinch off the lines mentioned above…

I have a valve on the water intake on my Blaster. I used a 3/8" ball valve and I drilled it open more to increase the flow. The valve doesn't seal %100 after I drilled it out but doesn't need to. It's also handy for flushing. If you tow slow you won't need it. I was concerned that I might forget to open it but It I did it once and knew right away it wasn't open by the sound coming out of my water bypass and no water flow.

I've towed lots of broken down ski's without shut off valves without issues, how fast do you plan on towing this thing?

We’ll I’m on the whitefish chain so there’s a lot of ground to cover. It would be slick to be able to tow it around, however just getting it to the big lake I’d be happy with.
