I was putting in at the same itme as a 18 ft bayliner jet boat with a couple and 2 kids. spoke briefly and I was on my way.
Saw them stranded on a mud bank a couple hours later. They sucked up their tube rope and locked up the pump. The guy was slipping and sliding on red mud with a knife in his hand trying to get under the boat to cut the rope loose:bigeyes:
I towed them 1.5 miles back to the boat ramp with my SN.
Even got the bayliner up on plane:woot:

With all the extra load on the ski, it heats things up A LOT.

I've melted things when towing, but now I go for 30 seconds, idle for 10 etc...

Ive towed a bunch of things with skis, I cant imagine burning one up.

but, im not towing WIDE open.

maybe thats the difference.

anyway.. most 30 foot sailboats are easier to push/pull than a 19 foot ski boat, there is a distinct weight/hull design advantage there.

How?

and Why?

I watched Crammin442 tow a 19 foot ski boat with his XFT ski, and it didnt seem any worse for the wear after the tow?

I just barely cracked the throttle and kept a close watch on the pissers also. I was more concerned with fouling the plugs than anything else.
