Custom/Hybrid TPE 964 test ride review

It was in the tiger craft , they had trouble getting the carbs dialed (they even put it in the pool at the rental home to tune it) and dealing with a sticky powervavulve but once they got it rideable i got a quick spin. And it felt super snappy I was impressed. Definitely has a good low end hit... Wish i spent more time on it

I rode the 964 very impressed ...I rode a lot of 900. 1100.s and 1200.s right before it and it still felt awesome...I watched the 964 with a b-pipe and msd enhancer...missing a power valve...do some big flat water flips...in a surf layup aqua bot...also that hull rides awesome...we will be ordering a couple 964.s too...

The motor makes unreal power and at a great price and everyone can be happy with that.

We had the motors at The Rad Dudes booth all weekend and the buzz was crazy.

If you guys want one get a deposit in and get on the list. These things are going fast!! Can't wait for Daytona you will see a ton of them there!

I had a chance to try the 964cc SS in the Aquabot this past Monday and I was very impressed with the power this motor makes (the aquabot handled very nice as well). The TPE 964cc is by far the most powerful SS motor I have ridden. My +4mm TPE 1021cc with Zack's light weight billet crank does pull harder and revs faster but I'm still trying to find a 144mm impeller that the 1021cc doesn't spin from idle up to 1/4 - 1/3 RPM range to see my motor's full potential (a 144mm Skat-Trak 17/22 C75 is on the way).
I know I went against the norm by putting a big motor in a stock hull, but after running my TPE 1021cc in my stock RN Superjet I can honestly say that I never thought I could have so much fun on a stock hull. These motors truly offer a great opportunity for people who like the way the superjet hulls ride and handle, but really want the aftermarket hull power to weight ratio without blowing their bank accounts.
My TPE 1021cc will not be coming out of my RN Superjet hull, and I will be ordering a second TPE motor for my next project this winter, (and yes I did try a lot of other motors this past Monday at Body Beach).

Eric.

I rode two 964s so far. Blaster and Aquabot. The 964 at worlds was kinda tuned, lol for 15 mins. Kept losing the rear PV screw and still was a blast to ride, very strong hitting package. I see great things for the future in TPE. The 1105 10mm i was fortunate enough to be one of the test riders the few hrs it ran before electrical gremlins took over. It was set up pretty nicely and hit hard, again for very little tune time. It was powerful enough that I knew to respect the throttle when I rode it. If i had know that it was going to be on the trailer for the balance of the weekend I would have ridden it harder. It left me wanting to ride it again but the guys just couldnt isolate the issue of running on one cyl. I will drive to ride this motor again as soon as its fixed, as its on the east coast. To be continued...
