TPE no delieveries

Please keep it clean guys. I'd like to find out what the issue is and what's being done to rectify the issue. I'd like to buy a TPE but will bring going ET if the issue isn't resolved. At this point I don't even know what the issue is and I'd like to get to the bottom of it.

If Erik is on the forum I'd appreciate him stepping in to expound on the situation and how it's being fixed. Thanks.

Erik doesn't spend much time on the forum but I have purchased a few motors from him. My first motor was told to be 6-8 weeks and was 10 weeks, nothing major like the October 2015. That almost sounds like something else is going on but I don't want to get into something I have no details on and just like to share my experiences. Depending on the motor I know he builds motors in batches and does not have the inventory on the shelf that he would like to always have. I reached him at a good time when he had parts left over. Patience is key with the delivery on the motor and I know he is not pleased with it but is a good man. I will say it again, he is a very good man. Honest, hardworking, and willing to help you out if ever an issue. I get nothing from TPE or Erik so please don't call me one of the TPE fanboys, I admire a builder who doesn't just sell you something and dip but someone who will help you on your motor after a sale. Either his own motor or anything jet ski related he has been there for me and guided me in the right direction and know of other people with similar success. And anybody who will deal with me on a sale and does not get frustrated also gets an extra point for that headache lol.

As for if he is waiting for parts, then he is waiting for parts and I know he doesn't like your project sitting there not finished otherwise you can't ride and he doesn't get paid so I know he is doing everything that he can for any of you guys waiting. From what I have ran into in the past is the cylinders being done take some time because they do not just build one cylinder at a time but do a batch of cylinders so sometimes that can damper things and soak up some time. Hope your parts come in soon guys! If you are having trouble reaching him I would look for a phone number in addition to email or via facebook. He is awesome at touching base at the end of the day to let me know where I am at with the motor. I encourage your patience so you can have the same pleasure I have had with his motors and service in my last couple of years.

@KMN I know not that long ago you were looking at my TPE motor for sale and then ordered a new one. I don't remember how long ago exactly that was but didn't seem too long ago, not too sure but hopefully that changes soon. Remember he has to wait for parts to get in in order to put his touches on the motor and assemble. Not pointing anything at you for your wait. Hope you get your motor soon, I love my 1105 and I know of many similar stories. You will be very happy with your decision.

Should prob call or email TPE directly and ask these questions. Probably get a more precise answer.

I'm still excited to get the motor, I just wish I would have known it was going to take longer. I have since bought an HPE 828 to finish my build so I can ride it a bit this summer. I'm really happy with it (first day riding today), but if a TPE 1105 shows up at my door I'll greet it with a huge smile. Talking with Todd at TPE has been great, he's helped out and I'm sure they'd like to have their supply issue settled. They still have my vote of confidence.

I know it sucks to wait for things much longer then your promised delivery date.
Eric big fault is promising to soon up front.

I to have been patiently waiting for parts and I don't ever complain because myself included I get way behind on some projects.

There some personal things that have hit Eric hard in life. Things you wouldn't wish on your worst of enemies. So that has taken a toll on him and set him quite some time behind.
Then there the machinist moving and causing power valves to be months behind delivery time promised to him.
TPE has done something no other company has and that's build a quality cast plated Cyl, unfortunately that also takes many operations outside his shop and rely on vendors.
It's not like you can order 100 platings and have them waiting on shelf.
You have to run thousands of dollars in castings and then send them off to playing. It's extreamly difficult to build his motor in high volume without extreamly deep pockets.
The guy doesn't drive any fancy new cars or have anything exotic.
He is 100% in on TPE and trying hard to get over the hurdle of regaining his investment capital to increase productivity.

Some of you just don't have any idea how tough this industry is to make a living if you don't have a huge lump some of liquid cash to invest.
In the last year of watercraft sales I have only managed to make enough money to buy myself a new dirt bike.
I work 80+hrs a week and have no shop rent.
My motorcycle builds is paying for the Blowsion boat not pipe sales.

It hasn't been a big deal as I have been hurt all year. So I guess it was a good time for me to buy if the wait was gonna be this long. I got the cylinders/pistons quick so paul could get the porting and work done. But the hold up has been the domes, head, and hardware. I'm hoping to have everything soon....

And TNT is correct. Erik has some gnarly life issues right now and can use the thoughts and prayers.

It's worth the wait! TPE is legit no bs or excuses. Just takes a while sometimes. One bit of advice. The mastermind Erik loves to talk and I love him for it. So don't keep him on the phone long if U want that motor.

I agree, his cylinder is the most innovative product since the advent of the billet cylinders. That's the exact reason I want his engine so much.

Ive bought an engine from TPE in primo 2015. I think it was delayed a few months but keep in mind that TPE is a rather small and new business that has done something new and a bit of "thinking outside the box" from their cylinder design. So there is more variables that can lead to a delay in a case like this, versus a machine shop with a billet cylinder that runs for xxx hours in the CNC and then need final porting and sleeves.
I would say that Erik has been one of the best guys to deal with, he truly stand behinds his products and want his customers to be happy with their purchase (and his products). I have friends that had delt with "bigger" names in the business and put down a lot of dollars and treated pretty bad.
Even though its easy for me to say, it wouldn't worry. I know Erik and TPE cares a lot about their product being top notch before it leaves.
If you still are anxious i would give Chris Raun a message, he is really a cool guy and will be able to tell you if something is delayed so you will get a peace of mind.
