Trailer question

Is there any way to modify a single trailer (set-up for 3-seater seadoo) to accomodate a stand-up as well? Maybe get an extension on the front of the trailer to fit a stand-up sideways - is this possible?? Any other suggestions?

You might have to move the couch further back to keep the weight over the axle and not on the tongue but it can be done.

You could always loose the Doo that way you would have room for 2 stand ups.

I was thinking that I could put it on the front of the trailer...but the trailer is not long enough to put a bunk in front of the crank. I know you can get a "cargo carrier" that attaches to your hitch - i could put the ski on that - but I'm not sure if you can attach a trailer to the cargo carrier...any thoughts?

Build a cargo carier that is strong enough to hold the weight

SeaNoEvil, Can you put a picture of your trailer? It will gives us a better idea what you are working with. There are plenty of crafty folks on the boards. I'm sure they can help you come up with a solution for the couch / ski combo.

that's exactly what I was thinking! Did you build that yourself? Does it not affect the tongue weight restrictions for towing? Can you show me a pic of the hitch attachment (both to the trailer and to the cargo carrier)? I'll post a pic of the set-up I have now...

Thanks

I can't seem to upload the pictures...but the trailer is quite narrow and short (only 22" from the crank to the front tip of the trailer). The spare tire on the back of the jeep liberty is gonna cause a problem too......i'm concerned about the tongue weight - if i put the 300 lb ski right on the back of the bumper, it might cause the front end to be too high in the air...

Be sure you have a class III reciever with a weight distribution rating if you are even thinking about that. (not all 2 inch recievers are class III!)
You are not only dropping 300lb on the tongue weight, but you are adding a ~2 ft torque arm to the trailer's tongue load.
