trailers...single/double..single-double

who uses what?

currently I have a single I use for weekly rides, a double for daytona and sebby trips (both galvanized)...but I have been pondering going the single-double route..

I think I have a lead to a decent deal on a 1 year old aluminum single that I could do a conversion with..

The goal over the next year is for my Xterra to turn into a pickup, then go trailerless for weekly rides.....with the single-double as my only rig..

any opinions?

When I find myself a second SJ I will convert my single into a double with a beach cart/bunks under each one.

I have a large double couch trailer but it's just too big for standups.
Why tow the extra weight when I can fit it all on a single.

I use a triple trailer....it's nice. Actually, it can hold two couches (but I've done that only once!)
Comfortably holds 3 Standups (or X-2) on the bunks, and another one in front of those bunks. And a storage box.
It's kind of rusty. I swear one day I'll get around to painting it. :haha:

fly...is that a boat trailer thaty ou converted? or an actual pwc trailer? I need to get measurements on the one locally...

vitaly....I drive my truck once a week to the beach, and maybe once a week to take my dogs somewhere.....I want to sell my 02, and get a similar Taco or ranger etc etc....

matt.....I typically only take one ski to the beach..if I break it, im done for the day.....When we take long roadtrips we usually take butti's rig with the triple and a superjet in the bed of the truck...

i want to go aluminum because the galvanized dboule is just too damn heavy to wheel all over the place...

I have a single-double that was previously a GLR (I think?) boat trailer, with a center pivot that lowers the back. It has fullsize wheels that make it good for long trips. No winches in sight, and since thats illegal, theres an equipment box that the bow of the ski touches, so it 'looks' like its attached. I see no prob. with just trying it down, and I use a boat ramp only pretty much, so winches werent necessary. Only think I dont like is that the tongue length is somewhat short, so it turns aggresive backing up, and it's just shy of being wide enough so that I can check on it through the sidemirrors.

I bought a harbor freight and it works killer. Cheapest trailer I could find. held my SXR and X-2 plus gas jug holder up front. Took it to daytona 80 mph each way no problem. It cost me 425 with shipping.

Thats a single PWC Trailer made by Karavan. It is very strong due to it's tubular construction. I believe there is measurements in that thread. Let me know if you need them and can't find them.

We did have two single trailers, one double trailer, and one utility trailer. Now we are converting one of the singles to a double and will use that and got rid of the double trailer.
