Transmission Oil PROBLEM

99 Blaster. I went to change my transmission oil tonight. I didn't think i had enough transmission oil. So I read the manual and it said that 10w-30 was compatible. So after changing the oil, my clutch is slipping real bad:popworm: I then found some more transmission lube in the garage anyways doh, and put that in. The clutch is much better but it is still slipping. My question is, should I change the clutch out right away, or will the slipping diminish if I change the trans oil a few more times?

What a stupid mistake:bad3:

you have to use special oil, it has to be oil with no additives. most oil for cars has additives to make the oil slippery which is not what you want.

goto your mx shop and get some belray or yamalube oil it is probably going to take a oil change or 2 to flush most the other stuff out.

yeah i got the proper gear lube now. I'm going to change it a couple more times and see what happens. Hopefully the disks aren't saturated with the additive stuff. I did think about the new additives after i put it in. I wonder if it will get better, of if i'm going to be doing a clutch next week.

I've heard of people soaking contaminated brake pads and clutch plates in acetone to restore them. but dont know if it actually works or not.:sad6:

use automatic transmission fluid, it's the exact same environment and inner workings as an auto trans. you change every 6 hours or so instead of every 8, but it's also only a $1.50 per quart and thats all your bottom end will take. this is a 2-stroke only thing of course.
