Other trick to removing the stock decals?

Same I used a heat gun on my 08. Took the stickers right off, its the residue glue left that sucks. IMO goo gone doesnt work too good.. **at your own risK** I used lacquer thinner on my paint with no prob. The factory gelcoat is rock solid and lacquer usually doesnt damage it. If you try it, try in a small, inconspicable spot. Please don't go and start slathering lacquer thinner on your paint without trying it somewhere first.. Id hate to see someone damage a aftermarket paint job

If you use an eraser wheel you don't need too worry about your goo deposits!

If your decals are in good shape and relatively new a heat gun is a good suggestion. My decals where old and beat up.

The only thing that worries me Punk is some guys will really lay into the area that they are erasing. And from what l have seen the paint will come right off glass with too much pressure.

You have to get the 3M eraser wheel(or equivalent quality brand) at just the right RPM(2000 RPM + or minus 200) or it will make goo at low speed and the wheel will burn the paint or explode at to high of speed.

No doubt the wheel can work well once mastered on VERY hard to get off decals/graphics, but I like a heat gun and the sharp plastic razor blades and their holder. I get them at Ace hardware.

Good luck!
