I'm switching impellers on a drive shaft. How do you take them off? Installing them without a skat trak tool?

if its not a stock impeller get the skat tool it will make it much easier
Driveshaft holding tool on the splines.
Impeller tool on the impeller if aftermarket- skat trak and hooker take the same hex shaped tool, solas tool is 4 pronged and different. Oem impellers dont require a tool.
Reverse threads on the driveshaft and impeller.

Anyone try it without the tool?
Yeah in a vise but you gouge the shaft cause you have to crank it down. Done in 3 times already when i buy a mag i'll be buying everything new with a tool next time.
