It's a lot easier to get a baseline tune doing it that way. Can't really hold it WOT and turn screws at the same time.. It will get you very, very close.Don't do it with the nose against something. Tune in real conditions under normal load. If a ski is being held stationary its under much more load than normal.
You're the first person I've heard say not to do it that way.
