Surfriding trying to decide on a new vest...............

I have a jetpilot A10 comp vest, but after a long surf day, I wouldn't mind being able to float. I would like to get a USCG one around or under $80 if I can. I want Black, and not nylon, but these are my two I have found so far............

I just bought the jet pilot apex uscga , fits and feels good.I payed 85 or 90 shipped

I have a old apex vest, and I wasn't to thrilled with it. Unless they have changed something, I don't think I would get another one.

I like that Stearns... I've been hunting for a side entry USCG vest as well. Hopefully you/we get some feedback.

I like the side entry too, that's why I was looking at the stearns, it's not a true side entry, but the buckles and zipper are on the side. But the other one has lumbar support, Probably won't do much since I'm hunched over the pole and the back will ride up and not cover my lower back

Ive used this vest for 2 seasons and it is by far the thinnest USCG vest I have seen. I came from an A-10 as well and thought I would hate switching to an approved vest, but in all honesty this hasn't bothered me one bit.

well I went with the stearns and got it in. Im liking it so far! there is no foam on the sides, so you can put your arms down and not feel fat, the not having a front zipper and buckles are nice like my A-10, but you dont have to pull it over your head, so I wont have to take my hat or helmet off. It is definalty running on the smaller size. I normally wear a medium, but this was a small and it fit like a medium. We will see how it floats, but there is alot less foam in it compared to my regular PDF's. If anyone wants any pics let me know and I can take them

i got this vest, pretty nice, side entry uscg vest, only thing i dont like is that the zipper comes unzipped sometimes
