I know I need 2 tubbies - but do I need 1's or 2's

I think I'm gonna put tubbies on my square if I ever get around to building it.

I was gonna do 1's

but then someone says to me today that he thinks 2's are better in the surf

opinions please!!

To be honest with you, I haven't noticed much difference at all between the two...

I'd go straight for the 2's. I do a lot of surf and flat water riding, and they're great for both, especially when combined with a D-cut stock ride plate!

I haven't heard of many people buying the 1's anymore. Have you asked John@Bloswion's opinion yet? Is he still saying get 1's for freestyle/ride?

Yeah, they do, but you don't really notice it after a while. You'll find the rec model does it as well.

When I'm cruising along at a decent speed, the front chine on the tubbies are out of the water anyway, and it still has that wobble that we have all experienced with a stock superjet with a decent intake grate.

I put tubbie 1's on my wife's ski to make it a little easier to ween her into the sport (and give me something to play with!). I haven't taken them in the surf yet but in the flats I can't honestly say either one of us notices a difference over w/o.

That's a sweet lookin ski wattage! :cool2:

i have found when riding with tubbie ones versus two the nose feels more floaty and less direct
It wasnt much of a difference in the surf
but when you took the bottom turn the II would hang in there where the I would feel mushy

The impression I've had (from only reading) with any of the Tubbies is that "it makes it easier" and "doesn't sub when doing a re-entry."

I don't find riding my SJ hard or feel like I need to make it easier. I also don't have a problem with my re-entry...I use body english to prevent subs. Sometimes I want to stick it a little, you know what I mean. I also like doing 180 turn subs and Tubbies might not allow me to do it as well (because it keeps the nose up).

Again, I only base this from all that I've read of people that have Tubbies. I would love to "try" for myself. If I knew I could sell a used pair for about $250 I would be willing to try a set (in case I don't like them).

However, if I had a round nose, Tubbies would be one of the first mods I would do.

I bought a set of 2's which i still haven't installed. i came off an sxr and wanted to add them to my sj i bought. but now i fell in love with how my sj handles and don't wanna install them until i ride an sj with them first.

anyone around NJ with em that's willing to let me try em out?

Seriously, I want to know! Why so adamant about putting tubbies on a Round and not a square?

I am fairly happy with the way my round handles ( and quite frankly, my square isn't all that different!). But I keep hearing people rave about Tubbies.

What is the deal?
