I'm returfing the tray and footholds on the freshly painted SuperJet.

Is the Hydroturf 3M adhesive functional? How does it work? Is it tape? Does it heat and stretch?

Big thanks.

Interesting.... When did they start selling 3M, As far as I know its tape...kinda like the stuff on the back of your GoPro mounts, Unless they just have there own cement now?

I do not believe the sheets of turf 3m adhesive backed are made with a "contact cement" but I do know that 3M does make a neoprene contact cement that can be used for turfing instead of DAP Weldwood. I personally have switched over to the 3m Contact cement and have 0 problems with turf peeling etc. You can purchase it directly from mcmastercarr. There are even better contact cements available for use in laminate/formica countertops if you can get your hands on them, but most of them are not available to the general public.

The 3M backing on the turf is taped, stick and go, not contact cement

personally havent tried it on a stand up, but hydroturf sell alot of the sheets with this adhesive on so im pretty sure it works well

i still like the contact cement personally

You are speaking about preglued, self sticking turf? l used this the last time l turfed my ski.None of it has come up for three years. But l would suggest using an adhesive promoter. As far as heating and stretching,l would think it would not be a problem, the glue will heat up and stretch with the turf.

the thing that i dont like about it, is the paper on it will not stretch. When doing curves, i like to heat and stretch it before finally gluing down. it can be harder to work with, but if your doing a simple turf job, it does stick well. Also, its called PSA, pressure senstitve adhesive, so use some serious pressure when applying!
