Turf setup

Hey guys,

I'm a proud new SXR owner. Previously was just into sit down skis. Have a Honda and love it but wanted to jump into standups. Rode some of my friends and really liked it so this season it was time to pull the trigger. So now of course as with anything I buy I can't leave it alone. I want to throw some new turf on it. I dont think I want to do foot holds just yet. Im looking to do something like this without the foot holds.

Anyone know anyone that makes a kit like this without the foot holds. I like how it covers the top foam rails as one of mine is cracked. Anyone have any insight on what I should do here. Maybe anyone who has done this? Thanks in advance guys.

I think hydroturf sells precut kits, ive never used one nor seen how they fit, but you could look into them.

I'm still on stock turf.... i'm getting cold feet on my foot hold install and turf job

ya i looked on hydroturf and they offer a kit that is the same as stock or ones for footholds but none that cover the top rails without footholds. I hear ya on the cold feet. I'm gunna give it a while before I go hacking up my ski. Anyone else have any ideas?

ya i was looking into it but its a little more than i want to spend right now. do they really make that much of a difference?

i hear they make a really big differance , but being a beginner and a new sxr you may want to get some other items like air block, straps and bilge.

foot holds start at like 50 bux LOTS of guys run REVS and they are cheap. Have you looked into how much turf costs?? I would deffinatly suggest doing both at once

Do the footholds. Ur gunna love them. No point in turfing then realizing u want them then having to rip it all up

iits a pretty simple process. plenty of info and how to thread on it.

Curiously, I have found it easier to returf WITHOUT a pre-cut kit.

With the kit, you have to adhere to what they feel is the ideal glue, heat, and stretch, not what actually gets done.

It's easier than you know to cut footholds plus don't forget, SX-Rs drain well and the foam is less apt to absorb water.

Cut your damn ski already. :wall:
