Sides and dash first, bottom padding and mat last.
They are cut like that because the tray is not flat.

Lol, the side mat in earlier pic was touching the tray at both ends. There is a 3/4" gap. This is irrelevant to the tray shape. It did not even remotely match the contour. Look at pic of bottom mat. It had a 3/4" bow in it as well on left side. Right side was straight. This is crappy quality. I was able to make it work out and will look fine. The upper sections of the rear are not where they were suppose to be. Oh well. Just like SBT quality... Hit or miss. Good thing this not my first turf job.

It is SBT quality since they bought them out , this is what you get now.

You know, you can always learn something new. This the first time in 20 years or longer I have used a precut kit. It comes in a giant plastic bag. Figured out I can use it as an isolator to get turf/pad placed where I want it without accidently having the turf glue itself where you did not mean. Just lay plastic down, set turf, then pull plastic out from between.17251649443499111545849396789274.jpg

Yep we used to put sticks on countertops before we glued them on , pull one stick at a time and hit it with a block of wood and a hammer , we didn't have J rollers then.

When I worked at the cabinet shop we have giant glue pressure pots, J rollers and a set o electric rollers , much easier, I did a lot of formica gluing there.

I have used sticks before.. never thought of a solid sheet!.. we use to do formica tops at work, long before my time. We still have some alum trim for it. Small cove strips I guess for joining backsplash strips.
