Turfing over Flame Arrestors?

Need some water prevention over my tau ceti's. I saw a ski at Pismo that had turf over them and hoping someone can post a couple pics so I can mimic it. Yes keeping water out is the best thing to do, but that's hard when you are getting rolled in the surf. :)

I'm tempted to try this myself, I just hate how it looks. I know, I know...

My ski runs fine, but no matter what always has milky FAs. For motor longevity, I want to keep more water out. My hood seal is 100%, I even added layers of electrical tape in the few areas of imperfection and there are no leaks anywhere. My water must be coming in via pole tubes or scupper and flinging up from the couplers.

I'm going to start by adding turf to my coupler cover to cover the gap between the cover and cases and maybe extend it out. I'll let you know if I notice a difference.

I have found that water likes to flow up the sides of the hull until it hits the lip and goes strait into the F/A. I glued a piece of turf to the lip vertically and it helped noticeably. A stock 760 F/A and a dry hull was the best solution I found. Giving up the cool F/As is a tough sell for most considering that's one of the first thing riders buy. If you are not purposefully subbing, seal the scupper and add a pump.

I am not convinced with the turf under the flame arrestors, to me any water that invariably ends up sat on top is prime to get sucked straight down the carb throats
So I stuck a go pro and light in the ski. In my Tigercraft hull you can see the water splashing up from the firewall and side corner of the hull. Back to back testing made a huge difference. I ran the turf all the way to the firewall and down 3 inches and to the side of the hull and down 3 inches. I am not saying this is perfect but was a huge improvement.

Can you share some pics of this?
