turfing with 25mm padding question

When you guys are turfing the tray with 25mm padding what are you guys/gals doing at the back of the tray where the rear bow eye is? I was thinking of covering it and not having the hole at all because this ski is gonna be a lake cruiser. Also with the thickness are you guy/gals just cutting pieces to blend or slope out the thickness difference at the rails by the ends of the gunwhales?

keep the bow eye for towing and or strapping down your ski. Just cut down the padded a little bit around the bow eye or you can end the padding early, sand it down on an angle.
They also make extended bow eyes to go through the extra padding. Jetmaniac has em.

I cut a larger diameter (maybe 2") at a 45* inward angle. Once you turf and tighten down the eye it will look good.

Cut the padding at like a 45 degree angle and put a bow eye in it. I didnt put a bow eye on my superjet and regret it everytime I put it on a trailer.

I angled mine at a 45 degree angle towards the back and I used an extended bow eye because I trailer mine from time to time. I used an exacto knife to cut it. The thing you have to keep in mind is if you start your angle too far back then your bow eye will stick above the turf and will be an area that you hit your knee on. If you aren't towing it anywhere then I would just delete the bow eye/ stern eye. Up to you though

I just used a long bow eye.. cut a hole in the turf a little tight around it and snugged it tight.. by tight, I mean I actually turned it down until tge turf was sucked down around it...

I cut a slit in the turf between the hull and pad and run a strap tied in a loop. now the top stays nice and clean and I still have a tow loop.

at the sides I just sand it down starting at the inside of the tray and usually end about the outside of the gunwhale. depends if you will use the stock corners and rails or turf the rails. I also sand the top edge of the back of the tray to make a nice round corner to turf around. I have gnarly shins and this padding at the back keeps what little sexy I have intact.

I used a whiz wheel and sloped the edge of the padding gradually when I did my turf, but I have a different ski so I can't comment on the bow eye, sorry.
