Other Twist Throttle?

I use a thumb throttle,... but I have it rotated so that it pushes down instead of forward. This makes for a very good cofortable grip and control

I recently switch my 650sx from stock thumb throttle to a finger throttle. Thumb throttle is nice, though like the above guy said, it gets a little difficult if the pole is low. I also like the fact you have multiple fingers pulling the finger throttle versus just your thumb. Your thumb always seems to get swollen and worn out. Also heard thumb throttle is bad for hood tricks since it's harder to reach.

When you twist a grip backwards you are putting your wrist at a 90° angle in relation to your forearm. You won't have any adverse effects from that alone unless you like to ride like that. The problem is, if you nose the ski in, all of your weight gets put on your hands/wrists and when your wrist is bent that severely and you put a ton of force on it, you're just asking to break it. The other problem I see is your grip isn't stationary so if you land with a lot of weight on your hands, there is nothing stopping your wrist from twisting the grip which goes right back to the first scenario.

This isn't a concern of mine. I guess I'll find out if I get around to putting one on my ski. I think once you are used to the twist grip the 'accidental' twisting will be less of a concern. I have plenty of control on my MX bike over the throttle. Some of the hardest hits you'll take riding a MX bike is over shooting or under shooting a big jump and in both of these situations you landing WOT to help absorb an impact (unless your jumping into a corner, then you just have to suck it up lol.. oh and not accidental pin it )
