Yes pretty simple actually. Build a wall, lay it across your bed and lock it in with 2x4 so it can't slide left/right strap it down, add bunks and load up. No supports to the bottom of the bed
I made a rack that sat on top of my truck bed, because I wanted the bed storage for lifejackets and gas, I used it until I found a suitable trailer for a decent price, probably around 6 months, it is made completely of 2x4's and cost 100-150 bucks. I had to make a 12 foot long ramp for it so I could get the skis into the truck as well, that was the only inconvenient part, as putting them in the truck took just over 5 minutes. I built it to handle 3 skis, but only ever needed 2 so I never added the 3rd set of bunks, it was just at 8 feet wide and I had tiedowns holding it down to the truck bed just in case, but it didn't move with skis in place.
