Uk's first Edge FR

Location
England
My mate has just built and had his first outing in the surf on the new Edge FR.

He rode it well and he said it handled surf riding at high speed very well. He looked at home on it after a very short time.....it's the best I've seen him ride since I started skiing.

I test rode it in the flat launch area and could tell straight away it was shorter than my Evo but still handled similar.

The fit and finish is usual Rickter perfection.

I have ridden both in the surf here at pismo, quite a few of my riding buddies have made the switch to the edge from the evo.(living 1 hr away from TC helps also) I love the way the edge handles at high speed as well as the turning ability from the shortened back/new rear skag design, also no hand holds on the hood/ graphics looks smooth and clean, fit n finish is out of this world as well. If you are a taller person it would help to have a longer ride plate for the surf. I would love to make the switch but im ridding my evo to good to change, it will eventually happen. Both hulls are sick hard to judge just depends on your riding style. Just my 2 cents.........Rickter for life!!!!!!!!!

Edge feels more 'flickable' due to the shortened rear and high speed surf riding is impressive.
I'm not sure id spend the extra cash to upgrade from the evo but I've not had my evo for a year yet....maybe in the future.
Like all the other guys have said the fit and finish is typical Rickter quality.

I have an opportunity to buy an Edge or an Evo. I don't want to make a purchase like this & buy the wrong hull. I am 5"8" 155LBS. Ride 50/50 Flatwater/Rough great lakes. Not really much surf.
I will be running DASA 6mil stroke w/B pipe and Solas mag pump.
Thanks for all your help!
