ultimate free ride hull

I want a hull with deeper strakes and built in sponsons like the SXR. I know alot of people like the slidy handling of a stock SJ, but I want a ski that can really carve on the face of a wave. My tubbied SJ is pretty sweet in the waves. However if it had an SXR like bottom and weighed 30-40 pounds less(than my reinforced SJ).....that might be a bad a$$ ski!

I have this hull on order with XFT so I will let you know in april if it is what I hoped it would be.

No Square..No Round..FX-1
How about an FX1?? Tubs, SJ pump, Modded motor (some reliable HP), Add some reinforcement?? Let's see...It's already light..Easy to carve around..A little shorter...?? Shouldn't cost 12K for a hull. At least the stock hood doesn't leak water too bad.....Hmmmm.
Pix of just a few of our ACY riding buds...5 missing, All FX's.

Just stirring up stuff...Dreaming of warmer weather...

It's already been done, ever hear of the F1-Pro?

I thought Wax was looking for something original, but it's hard not to copy what else is out there... you can only do so many different things to a hull.

You can mold a bottom with tubbie-like features on it, but it would make the mold a LOT more complex. Definitelhy not worth the trouble IMO.

Have them lay up some pre-preg copies - stronger and less weight. Just doing fiberglass in prepreg would lessen the weight a ton!

If you are going for bling you could do it in CF.

I can't believe no-one has made an aftermarket SJ with changes as drastic as the change from square to round. You know all sorts of lines and accents . . . or maybe someone has . . .

Seems most copies are so close to the original that a stranger could barely tell them apart.
