Underwater Krash

Took the delivery of my RTP in March. Everytime i take It out seems to have issues. Latest problem the bilge stopped and it sunk. Leaks pretty good to take on so much water, in a short time on flat water. Other than the excellent customer service so far. The RTP has been disapointing.

So put hull in water and open hood and start searching for leaks! Granted it should not leak. Assuming it has a sinker valve. May want to put one of Ocho's one way valves in.

Find and fix the leak. If it has a flapper style scupper, maybe dont sit in the middle of the lake for long periods of time. Install a better bilge setup.

Scupper flap is siliconed by krash before they ship them out. Midshaft and everything is fine, no water lines came loose. It was a new rule 500. Water came in from hood seal/pole bracket. By the time my buddy brought the tow rope about 30 yards away, it was already sunk.

Next question, why was the hood seal and pole bracket under water long enough for it to take in so much water for it to sink? Most any ski will sink if you hold those areas under water...

Also, water will come in the bilge hose because of the lack of a check valve or high loop in the hose.

Get the Krash scupper from maniac or Ocho Coronas worked great on mine also my starter kit where the breather tubes enter the top into engine compartment had a good gap or space so bigger hose or seal it up

My guess is the lack of scupper awareness by new riders. If you're a die hard who's building ski, you know all about scuppers. If you're the new guy shopping for an SJ or SXR and then come across the Krash that's ready to flip out of the box, you probably don't know about the dos and don'ts with a scupper tube. It looked like some of the new ones at WF didn't even have a tube.

Never came close to sinking mine, even when the bilge pops out of the base.

All I know (from friends experience), the early locking pin system is the weak spot you will need a bolt through-lock to keep your hood on (...remember Daytona 2018 pop a cherry?) Otherwise, they are solid all way around hulls, even lawn dart-proof!
I would love to try the RTR setup!

The Rule bilge died and you are blaming Krash? :confused:

Was the engine easy to fire back up after you got the water out?
