Underwater Krash

The Rule bilge died and you are blaming Krash?

Was the engine easy to fire back up after you got the water out?
After all The water was out and freah gas yea it started right up No not blaming on the bilge, it was a factor, not the direct cause. the hood leaked like crazy and the bilge failed. Making it take On tons of water everytime the hood line went under water and nothing to put the water out. Not realizeing it took on this much water. Did my best to push the nose up but there was too much of a leak.

As already suggested, you should definately consider getting a ball valve Scupper. I have one and leave me 50cal tethered to an anchor in 3 foot wave for 30 minutes at a time with no issues. From what I understand, they can't sell you a us coast gaurd approved hull with a Scupper so that's why it's sealed from the factor....

Then where are our fire extinguishers and holders? Haha.

Chris grace told
Me a while back they siliconed the scupper because their customers did not know how to ride a ski with a scupper, they send all
The skis out with it siliconed shut, which is how mine has been since day 1, since Id rather not have a flappy Scupper.

THe scuppers are only sealed due to inexperience. I didnt know what the hell it was. Its even in the krash instruction manual that they send out before the unit ships out that its for experience riders only

How has krash been for you helping you out after sinking it? You were lucky you werent in deeper water! Ball scupper definitely the way to go. have had midshaft leaks on a few of our skis and we also adjusted the hood latches so that the hood closed flush on the seal. I'm curious to hear what the root cause of the sinkage was... scupper? Hood leak? Filled from the bilge not being looped or a valve in the line? Glad you were able to recover it.

On my 50 cal the bilge line had to be run in a loop above the water line. The outlet to the pump was a straight shot leak any time you were not on plane. Also, the bilge line was leaking because the hose was rubbed through on the drive shaft from the factory. Also, and this was yuuuge the tray end of the hood was never touching the hood seal. I loosened the brackets, tightened the strap and pushed the bracket hardware so the tray end of the hood would be tight against the seal. I finally found this with a flashlight and a gopro under the hood. The water came in past the hood seal by the gallon!! Also, I replaced the flimsy condom hood seal with a watcon. (The end length was very close to an SJ for the 50cal.) The pole bracket and related, which you have found already, was a joke and needed attention. I added a second bilge pump and most importantly a ground strap from the battery to the ebox where the bilge takes its ground from. I sank once because the ignition lost ground 'somehow' and the bilge would not work either. (Not a fun surf day) I had to replace the midshaft as it was leaking like a sieve. Under power I think it pulled copious amounts of air through from the engine compartment. If I pinned it from a stand still it would just cavitate. :/

And mine was the Daytona Cherry Popper. So there was a bit more going on than initially thought. Frankly, at daytona I thought it was just bad skupper practice by me. And while there was that for sure, that was FAR from the only issue.

Krash so far has been very help full with all the problems. Havnt heard from them yet this week tho.
Scupper was still siliconed shut. Never cut it open. Used a go pro inside the engine bay and water pours in from the front hood and pole area. Havnt checked the back of the hood yet. Go pro died.

The rear hood brackets are adjusted all the way down on mine.
I also added extra ground wires, it was a suggestion from Nick when he stopped by my house to fix the ski a few months back.
