650/X-2 Upcoming ban for 2 strokes....

Was just at Powell this past week and it came to reality that the lake is no longer allowing 2 stroke pwc. I don't want to ditch the x2 but what motor options do I have if any to go to a four stroke motor. Or is this just not a realistic goal? Any info on things you have seen or recommendations would be great. Thanks.

Xp engines do not fit in gen 1 X2'S too well, I am making one fit, its a sh!tload of work and its still a 2 stroke, no way in hell a 4tec engine is going in there.

Non injected 2 strokes banned on Lake Tahoe before you were born. Ha Ha. Its coming and we the meager public aint gonna stop it. Lake Mead is banning non injected 2 strokes for 2013 I believe. The bans are more prevalent than most know. And to the OP, it is non DI 2 strokes, so now you have to figure out how to stuff a DI 1200 in your X2. http://lpyachtclub.org/npspwcrules

So basically what this boils down to is if u don't have a ton of money to dump into a ski it's not gonna happen. At least for a reasonable cost. Why hasn't anyone came out with a factory 4 stroke stand up? Just curious.

Ok I know about the hydro space and what not...I guess what I meant was a factory ski such as yamaha or Kawasaki. Seeing as how the 2 stroke ban has been coming it seems they would have done it if they are putting them in the bigger skis. I know a brand new ski either was is pricey but aren't the hydro space from out of the states?

Understood. Is there common places to find these skis in the states or is it pretty much gotta pay to ship them here. Sorry for the questions but I've had the x2 for a long time and always been a fan but I guess the time is coming to expand my horizons. Ha

I know the ban on 2 stokes has been coming but is this thread about existing and titled 2 stokes being banned from the water?
