A couple months ago I purchased this Amp Hull from a member, and boy was it ugly. This is another Dan Stein creation, it is a stunt hull bottom deck with some crazy top deck, that is then flat decked. To my knowledge there are 3 of the these hulls out there. One of them is mine, one of them is dans, and the other is another local rider(not built yet). The hull needed some serious body work, as most of his hulls I am sure needed, but it is much better at this point. I molded the front and had the hood fixed so it fitted better and looked cleaner. My painter did some serious sanding, priming and then 3 coats of Jaguar xkr-s blue and then 3 coats of clear, wet sanding and buffing in between each coat. The hull is 12 inches shorter than a stock RN, and with hood, pole bracket and pump shoe weighs about 60 lbs. The hull is very solid, but the tray flexes due to nothing below it. The so called fire wall is a little square piece mounted to the hull. I am not sure if i am going to run that or not. I was thinking of foaming the rear once I plum it with my rear exhaust tube, trim lines, coolant lines, and scupper tube. Then glass over it on the inside of the engine bay and form a "firewall". The other option is add more glass or carbon to the tray to stiffen it up. The engine bay is extremely open making it very easy to tuen the engine due to the carbs being above the engine bay.
My setup is going to include:
PFRacing pole -8.
X-metal Pole Bracket.
RRP Steering with riser bars.
Cold Fusion Finger throttle.
Pro-tech Trim system.
Skat swirl.
Engine set up is going to be an 800 polaris motor that my engine builder has built. He has dynoed it at 115 HP on 93 octane. I am either running a custom made dry pipe, or a stock pipe. I will provide more info as the motor comes along.
Here is the ski as it sits now. I will be working on it as I get time, since I am currently away at college, and as most of you know, as much as we would not prefer it, school comes first.
