Building up my surf ski and I thought i'd go for something different. I chopped about 9'' off of the nose. I had already cut 5'' off the back at a 45 degree angle but decided to cut more off so I cut the hole back of the ski off up to the pump inserts. As of right now from the nose to the back of the ski its 70'' long. I also chopped off the sides of the tray so I could have a wider stance and take some weight off.
I re-did my fixed steering set up so that I could use the same hood when I switch over to a handle pole. Im hoping to have it done in a few weeks. More pics to come

I plan on choppen a little more off the nose to give it more of a angle before I start to foam and re-glass the nose. Also when Im done with everything I plan or wrapping it in some kinda carbon/hybrid

I think we should call this... Do every crazy major modification to one ski.

Should be really cool though. Lots of things people have wanted to do and were/are too afraid to do them.

i was thinkin about chopping the mose of of my sn. i was afraid it wouldn't handle goos at all. f it i think i am going to do it. maybe chop the hell out out the hood too. A chain saw might be the right tool for the nose job. lol

Jerry Brandon Came up with the sharknose ski for nose stab's, 7/8 backflip's, ect. and Rick Roy incorporated Jerry's design in the Rickter for a reason, just something to think about! Rather than becoming a Plunger. lol

There is much work to be done. I loved riding this ski when I just did the fixed steering and the -5 on the back and im hoping this will make it even more fun. Im getting some materials after work today to get the back of the ski done and the tray area. I guess im going to fill the back with ping pong balls then put some foam in it so I can shape the tray. Hoping to get all that done this weekend

I was going to put 2 liter bottels in there but was thinking they might expand when they get hot and shrink when they get cold and start to warp the tray area

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing to the front of my spare SN hull. Can you get some pics from the front?

I put mine in the freezer for a few hours with the caps off to let the air in them get cold. Then quickly put the caps back on and use them. The cold air is denser than warm air and they will stay nice and tight. It can't really physically expand larger than the size of the plastic bottle.

I considered a lot of things when refoaming mine for the second time in one season. My final verdict was polystyrene only and an extra layer of biax where my feet normally are. I then used one way valves under the tray like big scuppers. The ghetto scuppers work well and keep the tray light but they do leak...though not enough to even come close to sinking the ski. Not saying it's for everyone but thought I'd throw it out there for consideration. I'm also running a flatdeck so foothold reinforcement wasn't really a concern.
