Use sealant on pump and if Y what kind?

I am changing the impeller on 4-stroke superjet.

1.a) When i re-install the reduction nozzle to the pump body casing it looks like i should use silicon or something to make seal; is that right and if so what is best to use?

1.b) Similarly, when i re-install the entire pump body back onto the hull should i use some kind of sealant there, and if so what is best?

No need unless saltwater IMO. majority of us leave things unsealed when we're constantly pulling the pump to tune. I've never sealed one or even used grease around the mating surfaces and never had an issue pulling apart in the future. Leave the wear ring(piece that presses against the hull) installed instead of pulling it all out. Therefore you preserve your pump alignment.

On the 4-stroke SJ the complete pump bolts on to the rear of the shoe. It's one piece with no rubber seal. The shoe sets the alignment.

The correct answer is you should lightly seal the surfaces.
