I have two superjets I have been looking at:

Used 2008 SJ, less than 10 hrs, cover, all stock, $5000

Used 2007 SJ, less than 15 hrs, all stock, $4250 to $4500

I am leaning toward the 08? thoughts?

hmm....... Tough call. Good Pricing on both. I guess it would depend on your riding style and primary riding location.

BTW: I love my 08'

yeah, actually just starting out riding.....I like the fact that they are both stock as I am into doing my own parts. Later down the road though an 07 will be harder to find stock as it is the older model and newer hull styles will be easier to find stock.....

As for parts nothing has changed since 1996 on the Superjet.
The only differences are:
Handpole: 08' use the same pole as FX-1
Driveshaft: 08' shaft is long because of the set back pump.
Rideplate: you can use other Roundnose Plates, you will just need to drill the center holes, or you can use a Squarenose plate and not have to drill at all.

The rest of the parts are pretty much interchangeable

Well, if you end up putting tubbies on the 07, add 200-250 plus paint and all that work you'd have to do. That alone is worth $500 to me.

The 08 will probably hold a higher resale value because of the design changes. Just look at the price difference between the 95 square and the 96 round. Usually $1000 separates them. Most of that is because people thing the square is ugly and the round is purdy and are willing to pay the extra for the vanity. Sure the 07-08 look similar, so you are not going to have that big of a gap in resale, but I think it will still be substantial when comparing like skis in the future.

I'd be lost without the x
Also, the 08 comes with a stainless steel impeller stock.. and contrary to popular belief around here, the 08 will slide easily once u figure out how to do it.

but the steering throw is :):):):)ty on the 08 compared to former years.. the fx-1 pole and cable causes issues

i love my 08 though... but i dont think anyone who owns an sj would say anything different about theirs. you cant really go wrong

good luck!

I'd get the '07. I have both and I like the '07 better. It's just easier to do tricks with it. The '08 is fun for carving though, you can lean it way over.

Oh, and I'd offer $4000 tops for the '07.
