Va Boating Certificate Needed for 35 and under

he wil need a helmet to ride in the surf area. this event is done with a permit so we dont need to worry about the card. just come and have a good time.

Out of town you are fine. IF VA registered and not riding in the event, you could get stopped. I highly doubt they would stop the demographic that is in our group though, they are looking for the big 3 seaters with the drunks on them running 70 plus in congested waters. This year it jumps to all Va operators after Jul 1st. I am trying to get off work to come down on Fri to Wavedaze. If I do, I'll bring my Cost guard inspection kit and can do inspections and give out the stickers if anyone wants.

I was there in the spring with my 16 year old son
no questions or problems
saw several skis with '05 and older registration stickers
but the cops were more concerned with keeping the swimmers and surfers out of the ski area
than hassling skiers
after all, it is our event!

i highly doubt they would ask him to see it. there are going to be a ton of people there. since your from Canada i would sweat it eh? just the standards, life vest, helmet, whistle, lanyard, fire extinguisher

We were riding lake Ontario in the summer and a marine cop pulled up with a big truck to see if we were all legal. we didn't have most of the stuff that we do need to be legal, but he added it all up and it was going to be a huge fine.. he ended up letting us off of the fines because we have a good record with the city of Burlington. We were asking him questions of what we did need. He said that fire extinguishers are not needed on a PWC anymore if you are wearing a life jacket. but you do need a bailing bucket, whistle, etc..

Well a bailing bucket certainly makes A LOT more sense than a fire extinguisher... :banghead:
