Value of FX-1

Im looking at buying a 1995 FX-1 that looks to be in good condition i was just wondering are these considered to be more valuable then the same year sj. The ski is all stock and appears to have never been beached. The guy is asking $1800 seems high to me. What do you guys think. Im located in michgain.

FX-1s suck, they're squirely and unmanageable, you should never buy one. Please forward all FX-1 "for sale" info to me so I can purchase them and protect you all from a ghastly mistake!! :sneaky:

No like winter
I paid $1800 for mine a couple years ago...

awesome paintjob
b-pipe
solas prop
toploader intake
riva ride plate
AM head
mild porting (sleeve misalignment taken care of)
boysen dual stage reeds
good bars
AC alum h-pole
good shop stand
good cover

I think $1800 may be a little steep for an all stock boat, but if its in great condition than its prob not too far off... plus its June so eveything is selling for more this time of year.

i paid 1500...it has a pole,prop, bpipe (fx chamber)..plate and grate w/ a solid motor...a little beat though

Going rate for a clean FX is $2000 on average. Keep in mind there are alot more SJs than FXs. I know I wouldnt sell mine for less than $2000 but it also has $1200 in upgrades that I bought brand new. My vote buy it and a Square Best of both worlds idea.

ya it looks to be a clean ski i havent done a compression check yet or talk to the owner as its at a dealer on consignment. From what the dealer has told me the guy is the original owner and bought it from him back in 1995. So i will find out more tomorrow. The outside isnt in rough shape but hasnt been waxed every year if you know what i mean. Although it looks as if it has never been beached. What was yamaha thinking with the mid 90 colors.
