Vapor Honing

That looks great!

Do you have to repaint afterwards or does it polish the surface enough that it seals it off?

For those looking for more information;

I have not had any issues with the surface so far on trucks and motorcycles. I don't think paint will stick well to this surface because it feels really soft and smooth. Hard to explain. My friend Hugh has been using this cabinet for at least 5 years and using it for his production engines and parts (motorcycle) and I don't think he has had any complaints about corrosion. I can't say for sure how it will hold up to salt water use, but we are gonna find out!

I think i need one of these. Any idea of the cost? On their site you have to request a quote.
Quote = exspensive im sure.

I think he paid almost $5k for it back when he bought it new. He did say that there are other companies making them now and for much cheaper with less "bells and whistles" but his is real nice :)

The reason it looks clean and smooth is because it is removing the top layer of dirt and aluminum, there is no way around it, it is an abrasive. It also leaves no layer of protection as it is bare aluminum so depending on the environment it will corrode just as bare aluminum always will.
Instead of air being the carrier for the abrasive like a standard blast cabinet, water is the carrier for the abrasive, really nothing magic going on. They even have trailer mounted units for commercial use, known as dustless blasting.

Yes, I still want one but could never justify the cost.
