this was the stuff we tried
We have enough for one more attempt. Hope we can figure it out this time.
Anyone know a good vinyl to use? I was thinking about trying some of this out.

My paint is in good condition but has a lot of oxidation. It has lost its shine on the nose. Waxing and buffing will bring it back but unless I do it frequently I get a lot of fade.
I was measuring my ski and the entire ski could be done with about 27' of 24" wide vinyl with the only seams being on the center of the nose and on the inner edges of the hood (by the extinguisher). $70 by the time I am and I could buy it a few pieces at a time. (it would be best if I could buy it by the foot 24" or 18" wide)
(1) 24x48 covers pole and nose piece
(2) 24x84 covers both sides (seam up middle of nose)
(3) 24x36 covers the hood (seams on inside of both humps)
I would end up with an extra seem on each side somewhere since the ski is about 84" long and most options are 60" (the one I linked is only 48"). I'd also probably need to do the pole as a top and bottom half so there'd be a seam on either side of the pole just under the edge.
Any thoughts on the quality of such a thing? I don't want to buy some

vinyl that doesn't hold up and destroys my paint. It is 25% the price of the stuff linked in the quoted area. I'd be trying the pole 1st since I'm going to have it apart to shorten it soon anyway.
Thanks!
