I'm not hating. I don't care who buys what hull. Josh hasn't said anything because he believes it'll just be faster and easier to fix it ourselves. And that hull is about 1 1/2 years old, not two.
I'd like this to be more constructive feed back...
The bond between top and bottom is obviously where it broke in the front. The glue and gel coat over it has cracked a good ways down the bond line on both sides. That's understandable considering the situation.
The "visual carbon" on the inside was just that, visual. All of it under the engine was completely seperated from the hull and peeled right off, and up the sides you can still get a fingernail under it and pry it off.
The carbon exhaust tube had no bonding with the bulkhead, so it leaked like crazy into the tray. The pump shoe was installed with one aluminum rivet and three steel rivets which are obviously rusted. I didn't look at it yet, but Josh said the hole for the rear bow eye has an unsealed gap between top and bottom deck. The tube for the driveshaft doesn't look sealed at the pump tunnel. We had filled the rear of the ski with water (no foam) because he complained it sunk fast, and water came out of every possible hole (with everything bolted in) and some places we couldn't identify. Oh and looks like the plates for the engine mounts are starting to corrode. We don't know how much glass is over them, or if it's just the visual carbon, yet. This has turned into a lot more work than anticipated...
all tubes and thru hull fittings are sealed from the inside with epoxy. I never in my life used steel rivets as I buy them by the boxes and are all aluminum (so that's kinda weird)
The engine plates are aluminum so if water got to them somehow then it's understandable.

Mr speedysproket, why isn't Josh contacting me if there is a problem or possibly some negative feeback on the hull. I am all about correcting what needs to be corrected along with some informative feedback from riders/customers.

I would say Alex is voicing his findings as he is doing most of the repair work for this project in an effort to get Josh back on the water.

Well we know that "everyone" on this forum has been completely honest about any and all shortcomings with their hull regardless of builder right? All members have been forthcoming with any and all flaws with any hull so as to warn/inform there "co-riders" on this forum as to a potential problem or to warn potential buyers right? Hope this is an isolated incident and maybe ol sprocket can have a phone discussion with WCF to remedy the situation. While reading this there do seem to be some descrepcies. It wasnt long ago that Mark at Rad Dudes pointed some things out on a build and got strung up by members lol. Hope this goes well. And yes the beginning of my post was sarcasm.

Ok, lets end this little dramatic moment on this wonderful forum with a couple show off recent pics of this great ski :)
Surf has been very generous lately, and there is nothing better than that for all freeride addicts!

WILKEY

SO FAR CHANGE SUCKS!!!!!!
I personally think the ski held up great for who was riding it. Josh has never taken it easy on a hull. Yes there were a couple issues but who gives a flying :):):), we fixin it and he gunna ride again. The 3 rivits were steel, and the visual carbon sure nuff delaminated. I hope It stops where its at cause id hate for those plates to rip out.

for the record, alex must of had an axe to grind... The way we ride these skis you cant expect them to be unbreakable. It's held up really well to this point. no stress cracks or anything of the sort. Other than breaking the nose at wavedaze its been solid. Lemme show you how to ride and break that footrocket Alex.

Alright, my apologies. I wasn't looking to start an investigation or anything. Hull broke from serious impact- there were no stress cracks seen before this. Visual carbon delaminated over time. Tray leaks a lot. I'm done. I'll delete my posts if it's the right thing to do.

This is gettin phishey

Nothing phishey here. Its the same old situation, someone finds an issue with a product, says something, everyone takes sides and its on (backie chan, bob, SF, 701 and the list goes on). I have witnessed and been a part of this type of situation, which is enlightening somewhat... Lots of hulls hold up to hard impacts, some of them go for years without breaking, others don't. Like Wilkey said, there were some problems with the hull upon inspection, it is what it is... if you weren't in the garage looking with them then you have nothing to contribute to the quality of the hull.

All right then, no more visual carbon inside of the glass hulls. I'm just gonna throw some paint in there like every one else.

BTW, I have yet to see a hull that does not take on any water in the tray thus the reason I always install versi plugs for the rear section.

See that! I can take negative feedback and turn into solving the problem. That's why I like to hear from other that ride my hulls.

My thoughts exactly. As a hull builder I troll these threads looking for what failed on others only as r&d to make my product better. There is a lot to be learned here, more by lurking than posting!
