nothing at all i was trying to arrange a helicopter but best one i could get was so far away i would only have about 10 minutes to search. so wasn't worth it

Well sounds like you are getting a mega awesome new ski and plenty of parts to get it going.

When you get the new ski on the water pour a little out for your fallen ski, put a recovery system on the new one, and post some vids when she is on the water!

I have an idea to recover your ski, Lake Erie usually freezes by the end of January, invest some money in an underwater camera with a 100' wire they are usually around $250 on kijiji, and a good used gas ice auger and start your search. I have both if you wanna try it one weekend let me know.
And the good thing is the visibility is always better when the lake is frozen

I have that same feeling when I am driving down the highway and see a mexican guy driving a busted up toyota truck with a bed full of junk towing another busted up toyota truck with a bed full of junk. The world may never know.

We had found and recovered many atv's and sleds on Lake Simcoe the same way. IMO it never hurts to try it again.

ATV and sleds that fell through the ice? These sunken skis usually see some heavy heavy waves for weeks and weeks after they go down.

Yes through the ice. I know they will float away from the point they have sinked but they are still there. A few guys with the right gear on the ice can cover big areas in one day

I scanned with ab$1200 side imager every weekend for months, had the camera on the Cable also. Early spring before summer run off dive is probably best. going to Try to get a helicopter for that time also.
