Other Wanna run an idea past you guys/gals...

So I still have way to much time to think of stuff ideas ect. So here is my latest one. Since you can get rubber in rolls 1/16" thick in whatever width you need. Why not glue down with contact cement a piece that goes down the middle of the bottom of the hull. Then for people like me that haul skis in the back of a truck beach them ect aren't destroying that part of the hull. Yes? No? Contact cement to hold it down?

There's a product called "keel guard" for boats. Similar concept, so I think you're idea would work. Their website has install instructions. Personally, I don't mind the scratches.

Pumps take on way more :):):):) than the chance of it coming off so why not? I don't see the point but then again I hull my ski on a flatbed...lol.

I would be worried about 6' of rubber getting jammed inside the pump, I think that would be a lot of stress on the entire driveline. I wouldn't do it but that's just me. I haul my ski on bunks in an enclosed trailer and always have it on a beach cart.

I would use HDPE if the bottom was getting serious damage. For mild scratching and scuffing I would just roll on a thick coat of polyurethane paint every season.

I've seen roller wheels attached to the end of the tailgate before, permanentaly. Or you could just take the ski to a shop and get a spray on bedliner on the bottom. ??????

Why not just hit up the Army Navy Surplus store for an old blanket and use that in the bed? I do when I haul my ski in the bed. Works well and can also be used to dry off if you forget your towel.

Terrible idea. It will mess with the handling and eventually rip off. Contact cement won't hold it on for more than a few minutes. Just get a chunk of carpet. Put it in the bed of your truck and on the beach. Way easier and smarter.

It would be neat if there was a way to establish a quick remove/install system that would allow and form fit an 18" wide strip of crazy carpet to the bottom. Rubber on the bottom in a truck bed, have fun trying to haul it out of there. That thing would stay put like it was glued in the box =)
