Bud in all honesty......coming into this sport trying to be cheap is not going to work

It's like saying I want to win NASCAR with a sudent allowance ....not going to happen

Ride your ski for now and save up as you go

If you can master freestyle on a stocker imagine how good you will be when you get the added brap

So write a list of what you want and put it in group of piority needed

Eg. Foot holds, quick steer mod, d- cut ride plate , first do those as they are cheapest and most needed for freestyle last two suggestions are free and DIY

Then upgrade motor to 701 or 760

Ride that stock till you save again
Then pipe
Then head filters etc

I know you prob itching to just do it all at once but if you do with a low budget I guarantee it will be a half job and prob make you not enjoy it

So do it step by step climb the ladder slowly as your skills increase reward yourself with some trick bits

And most important rule ever have FUN

look around on craigslist, sometimes you can get lucky and pickup a couch with a nice 701 maybe even 760 with a trailer for MAD cheap, mind you it probably has dirty carbs...then you can recover your money back by selling off parts and trailer, hull with title. etc etc...

Found a 701 o
dual carb bout to go pic it up for 100$ plus the e box and electronics. Def needs a some tlc, getting a free hull out of it too.

Upload pics later. Def needs rebuilt. Anyone know what a guild rebuild entails? Have a buddy who owns a shop and he normally hooks me up

Tear the cases in half and clean the piss out of them and oil and clean crank bearings, put it together with oil resistant RTV, crank bearings, Bore and hone, chamfer ports, wiseco (in my opinion) pistons, rings, bearings, pins, and get a good head gasket.

Thaat's braptaastic!
I know where u can get a complete running used 701 motor for like 450 bucks dude... Best set up is 62t cases with 61x cylinders. Going to want dual carbs and a nice pipe... Pretty much if u want a decent ski nothing crazy that will be fun for some freestyle then you are going to need way more than 800 bucks lol. Between handling mods and pump and motor mods... You're lookin at needing to dump a good 3000 dollars into that pile lol I'd know... Started out with that same ski myself stock 650

That 701 I just got is a piece of sh*t. Drove 50 miles for an engine with a blown lower case. Gave him 20 bucks so I can tear it apart and lean. Got e box and wires too. So not too bad. I mean I'm ready to poor money in. I just got a new job so I'm waiting on paychecks. IDE have to spend on parts weakly not all at once. Not looking for anything crazy just enough to get me going in the right direction. Learn some things and go from there. I'm just too eager to get out there lol
