Yeah I seen the one yesterday that came from TC. A buddy of ours bought it, I know it has one more layer of glass in the lay up (Freeride edition). It still needs some help, TC still re inforce's his.

It's all in how hard your going to ride.

from what i hear, the FR is made to handle a pro level beating STOCK. i though the FR is brand new, i didnt even know they were for sale yet!

We would have to check with TC or Brian to confirm. I think I seen when TC posted this ski I'm talking about it was posted as a new Freeride Edition, I maybe wrong.

It might be fine if your a pro that never lands wrong, No big bails, etc. IMO if you ride surf it needs some glass or Carbon to give it that extra strength.

I would rather do it before its cracked then after.

That's Just my .02 & its not worth much.

did it say FR on the side?
noone never lands wrong, progression involves a beatdown. imagine working on a double roll.

There is NO WAY I would buy a brand new hull that needs reinforcing.
Are we serious? I think that is absolutely ridiculous...

especially if it is a freeride edition.... $6500 +/- for fiberglass hull should be nearly indestructible.

I was thinking the same thing. I ride with Ross Champion a lot and he just has everything dialed. He rides so smooth and rarely bails. On the other hand my feeble attempts at big ariels often don't end so well. My ski is re-inforced WAY more than Ross's and most others I've seen, why, because I need it. I'd rather re-inforce first before it cracks than have to do it afterwards, especially with a $6500 hull.

I have one of the latest FR2's...

They certainly don't appear weak by any means. Time will tell but these things look and feel solid.

Yeah there are a lot of the new FR1 and FR2 hulls down here but the next lot have carbon reinforcing inside on top of the Glass so you do not need to reinforce them apparently.

thats interesting.hope the fr2 model holds up better, wont matter though the buddy club info will never get out unless they crack in half in the surf and are never seen again....lol
