One way to tell if you'll need more Eva block is to put the ski assembled and fueled into the lake. With hood off observe the lake water level on the box side of your ski @ the pipes stinger and plot and transfer that water level to the inside of your ski. If the bottom of your stinger is at or slightly below that water level you'll get water back flowing up the pipe. My box is within about 1 inch of the engine bay lip for reference

I've never had a problem with my pfp in the Dvx. I have about a 2" piece of foam under my waterbox. The Dvx sits pretty high out of the water though. Modify your spray bar and run it with the smaller jet and see where your at. How much higher can you raise your pipe?

Geez swap a box cartoon thread lol jj anyone notice the rrp pipe get much louder after awhile of riding. Even with no fcv on wb

Is a good baffle design like the tnt better for keeping water from getting through then the rrp design ?

Or is it just the physical height of the inlet?

im starting to think it's the waterbox being so small, or the excess water from the spray bar.... after shut down, if you sink the tray trying to get on and get started it will back fill the motor with water... not much but too much for me... I noticed many other waterboxes are much taller than this small RRP. RRP won't return emails when I asked about this.. only when I asked about install (which i was told to use NO jets in spray bar, and no flow control or jets on waterbox, so that was Def. an issue at first).. i have jetted both now..

I fount a temporary solution until my new style waterbox is finished. The flap stops the water from coming back in.

Your having the same issue I had, deep water reboard gets water in.. I raised water box 3.5 inch above the built in battery tray... If you want to know how much to raise the box put the ski in the lake with the hood off and transfer the lake water level outside the hull at your stinger to the inside of your engine bay at the pipe stinger and see how much more you need to get the stinger of your pipe above lake level.

Exit: the other thing I do and i learned it here on the X is to side start the ski. Now with the water box plenty high I can deep water re-board up the tray with engine off without issue... But I now also have started to tilt the ski on the exhaust side till the start button is near the water and start the engine then climb aboard...

I don't have any issues.. its when someone else tries to ride it.... i don't sink the back.... I will raise that box as high as I can, maybe that will also help...

I bought a 2 1/2" rubber end cap for PVC for $3 at Lowes. Just sliced it open and clamped it on my exhaust to fix what I think is a similar problem as yours. Works like a scupper for the exhaust.
