How can that motor possibly be reliable? It is like those 951 Seabombs. Too big of pistons for a 2 smoke. I can't imagine getting 300 hours or more on that motor.

I am sure it rips your arms out of your sockets, but I can't imagine it being reliable at all.

The Seapoo's biggest problem was water injestion due to poor design of other components. Also, a couch sees a lot more abuse than a standup (heavier loads, extended WOT runs, retards doing 360's in 6 inches of water, etc).

I don't know if 300 hours will be possible but Jeff's engine will not have to work hard, and you will have to respect the power. Besides, what are you comparing it to? A comparable Superjet engine would cost the same, would put out less power, and it surely wouldn't last as long considering it has smaller bearings and weaker cases.

I would have to disagree with a comparable superjet engine costing the same amount....jeff charges about 8k. The engines look very nice in person!

Do you mean that a comparable SJ engine would be more?
I think it would be - think 10 mil crank, lamey pv big bore, etc.

Im talking comparable -power wise, not cc wise. I belive that a 5 mil stroker setup right with PV and a lamey will give a very similar power similation....

You think that a 5 mil stroker with Lamey will bring you over 200 HP reliably?

Probably more sub 160HP, if that much at all. The decked out EME 800 gives around 160HP.

It seems the 1200CC REV engine is not in the same league as any Lamey.

EDIT: From what I see numbers-wise anyways. Didn't you ride one this weekend?

I'm not saying it is a bad motor. I am sure it friggin rips and it is friggin beautiful.

I just can't imagine pistons that big being reliable at all in a 2 stroke. I mean, can you just rip that ski around all day long or is it a strict freestyle machine? What will it do on WOT runs or with water temperature changes. (Temperatures of the billet cyllinder against the cast metal cases?) I am just bringing up a few ?'s I have. I would love to have a reliable motor with that much power. I hope this is it!

BTW: I love all of Jeffs parts. I am planning on ripping out my footholds eventually for some WDawgs.

What do you get from Jeff for 8 grand?

62T pv Lamey cylinder close to $2000
62T Stroker crank $1250
PV's $500
62T Cases $500
Gaskets and seals $50
Pistons/rings/etc. $300
Head $300

So that's $4,900 with out any assembly labor or porting. I just guessed on the cases cost but you need to figure at least $225 for a clean used unported set. A good port job is easily $200 for the cases and $300 min for the cylinders. I don't see much of difference between 6 grand and 8 grand because if you're rich enough to afford 6 grand what's two more for more power?

Out of curiosity, where did you get the notion that big pistons in a 2 stroke are not reliable?

Sleds have been doing it for years, and turning even more RPM's. You can't ride one of these 1200 engines for very long at WOT because you'd be dead, lol.

How well does a billet head work on cast OEM cylinders? Also ADA and ABLE made billet cylinders that worked well.
