easy way to fix this, get a tupaware containir and big enuff to cover the filters,

are you runnin the stock water seperator? or aftermarket flame arestors ?
this works for the aftermarket filters

um water in the fuel buddy not the filters. i had the same prob and had to keep cleaning it out. what a pain in the ass. but i ridin 5 time now and no probs. ur air vent for the tank that goes to the outside up the pole needs to be taken out and just use the same bulb lookin thing that was on the end of the tube inside the handle pole and run it inside ur engine compartment. That bulb lookin thing should be connected to the check valve which goes into ur tank. make sure ur check valve for the vent is also working properly. That was one of the main probs with mine. i also took out the front fill cap assembly but i dont think that is necessary. any ? let me know.

I feel the OEM water seperator is mandatory. It works really well.

You definitly need the bulb at the top of the breather hose which should be the green line running up the pole.

I was having this issue until I put it all back in. Dry as hell now.

Sounds like I must be missin somethin .The hose that goes up the pole just connects to a tube that has 2 holes in it.The end of the tube is smashed closed. No bulb lookin thing.

I believe the bulb that the others are refering to only came on 98 plus, b/c I have a 97 and it has the same deal at the end of the green hose that you have described (clear straw looking tube that is pinched together at the end with a hold on each side). 98 year plus has a water seperator deal in the handlepole that we dont have.

I was having the water in fuel problem on my 800 sxr. Now I just run a check valve coming off a short hose off the gas tank and it seems to be fine now.

Is there a problem with leaving the cap unscrewed a bit on the water seperator (in the hull) so that it drains after filling? Or even leaving it off? I think it would be fine then, and you wouldnt have the problem with the water seperator filling and then flowing into the tank.

I leave mine unscrewed, no problems.

I could be wrong, but isn't there a problem with leaving the cap off, which would be that what if your ski full of water and it rolls on it side, the hole in the bottom of that cap will allow water right into the tank. But I'm new to SuperJets so I'm probably wrong.

I always thought the OEM water seperator sucked and allowed water to be drawn right into the gas tank. I've always disconnected it.

I guess if your hull is very water tight and has great drainage (scupp and bilge) that you could disconnect it and just have the 1 way valve coming right off the tank.

I still don't see why though:dunno: because if your ski sinks or fills and rolls to the right water is going to go straight in thru the 1 way valve.

With the OEM setup your pole would have to be submerged for so long that the 4 feet of 1/4" line as well as the seperator itself would have to fill up in order for water to get into the tank.

That makes sense to me

well i had it stock for a while then did away with the water seperator and just put the bulb lookin thing inside the ski toward the front connected to the one way and have know probs. all the sj guys i ride with have the same setup and it works perfect. I would always get water in my tank when i had it the stock way and even changed the check valve and it still did it. i would recommend tryin it. but im sure theres many ways that people have tryd that also work. just whatever works for u is the way to go. im just very pleased how mine is working and im always deep subing it.

Just saw a pic of a fuel tank (forget where) and instead of running the water seperator setup, he just cut the line down very short off the fuel tank nipple, put the one-way on and then a very small one inch nub of fuel line off that. Looks like it would work fine.
