Super Jet Water in the stator area

hey guys I have been having nothing but problems with water getting into the stator area and after pulling the stator it almost looks like the crank seals are leaking. However the ski runs great and never has any problems idling or anything. I just lose power after it gets hot leading me to believe the stator is toast. Can you take a look at the pictures below and give me your opinion?

Could the rust just be what was leaking off the front of the crank?

Have you tried doing a leak down test to c if seal is leaking, wouldnt think a leaky crank seal would cause rust like that, on my stock flywheel covers always use grease on both sides of gasket. Or water is getting in where starter goes

the gasket between the cover and the engine cases.water can also enter through the rubber grommet and the starter snout orings.

I grease the starter o-ring then fill in the gap between the cases and starter with silicone as extra insurance. Try some 1211 around the flywheel cover gasket and rubber plug the stator wires run through.

Grease is your friend, it repeals water, flywheel cover gasket, ebox gasket all rubber grommets, always had water in my ebox till i started using grease on gasket and groments.

That is a good idea! I am going to start greasing my ebox gasket.
