Water shoes for sandy enviroment?

looking for water shoes in Sandy environment. Need some ankle support ideally. Can't have sand getting inside causing rashes.

Size 12. First day riding yesterday and the soles ripped off some $10 dollar water shoes and I had to walk back to car on hot asphalt...

Do you think wrestling shoes would work with some kind of neoprene liner to keep sand out or better to get purpose "jet ski" shoe?

I have a new pair of these NRS boots in 12....this in not the new one, the 12's are new In package.. Ancle support, some arch and high sock to keep sand out. Pm if interested

I feel like this is a oxymoron. Water shoes let water out thru mesh, holes, what have you. If water can find its way out sand can and will find its way in.

As long as it drains the sand also and doesn't completely trap it. Just shoes with some grip that you can get wet often that won't mild dew or rot. Surely people riding surf/beach have a preference since they are constantly in sand and jumping.

I had the same issue with sand tearing up the top of my foot when kicking in and ive had good luck with a pair of asic aggressors and just normal cotton socks.

Honestly, I prefer the Slippery or Jetpilot boots. Yes, they will let some sand in.

I just wear some thin neoprene socks with my shoes to keep any sand/shells from causing irritation. Mine are about 6" higher than my shoes and makes kicking in much more comfy due to the extra layer above my feet.

Wrestling Shoes + Neoprene Socks = Winning

I have 3mm and 5mm socks. Prefer the thicker for more padding and better warmth year round, but they get hot when it's 90+.

EDIT: I also use wet socks with these.

I use jet pilot x2 cross trailers and I love them. They don’t support ankles but are great in and out of the water.
