be careful though, if you make too big of a hole, and increase the power, she might have a hard time riding it.

I have bored a 7/8" hole through the divide without making much more noise. Relieving the waterbox seem to benefit only stock 61X exhaust where there is no tuning effect. Tuned pipes need restriction, either at the stinger or within the muffler in order to work. This is one place where you can increase power and decrease noise at the same time.
