You can melt wax and put in threads tap afterwards to get wax out, get some modeling clay stuff in the threads, ear plugs work well to

Back 'in the day' we used to keep a wax toilet ring in the shop both for filling nuts/holes with or for coating screws with so they could easily be removed from epoxy.

I'd go for the wax, it'll will be much more difficult to accidentally push out with resin. I tried using Vaseline on my pump inserts and a bit of it got pushed out by the resin. I waited till it was semi cured and screwed a self tapping screw into the little resin plug and pulled it out with a pliers.

Sorry I haven't posted much on the progress. Everything has been glasses over and is really solid now. Motor went back in last Saturday and I I have put 1 ride on it and so far no hiccups. Now I just need to do a little body work this winter to get it looking nice again. I'm kinda leaning towards selling off the hull this winter though and looking for a aquabot or maybe a wdk rip.

That's the first generation type motor base plate. I used those in the beginning (about 10 years ago) and since change it to epoxying plates in instead.
Your best bet is to remove it entirely and either re epoxy back in or put some new aluminum plates in

I cut out the old plates and cut them down and 're-tapped the threads. Then I epoxied them back down and did two layers of s-glass over the top.
