Waterdawg Blaster 800

you really dont have to cut out the old front mounts , leave them place and mould new front ones like was done on mine and add some glass fabric over the new moulded pedistals , I already did all the homework on that one . you wont have to put as much glass on as i did mine was a little overkill on the glass dept ! my mounts are still rock solid ! FWIW
You know I thought about doing that also. It looks like a lot of work, but I'm sure it's very solid.

again its VERY EASY to make those mounts, ! BTW ,I have 2 of a set of '' 1200 triple speedworks pipes'' that i purchaced for the b-1 build that I never used , complete with springs and header flanges , they are supposed to be able to be used on the 800 set up in the b-1 and still fit the hull , I have never even tried them , you can pm me if your interested in them

So I had another idea about the exhaust...

What if you were to take the Waterdawg Manifold and turn it around so it faces backwards then run a Speedwerx Dry Pipe?

If you look at the pictures the two manifolds are very similar. They both stick out about the same distance and it looks like the Speedwerx Pipe might be able to mate up to the WD Manifold.

I know the Speedwerx fits fine on a 62t, but I'm not sure how it would fit on a 66e in a blaster.

Let me know what you all think or if you have tried it before.

You can make just about anything fit if you have a big enough hammer! :)

The only thing I would worry about is the bottom of the pipe where it makes its turn to the top of the chamber clearing the hull. The 800 motor is so much bigger (taller, long, wider) it might not clear. Even on the 62t motors we have to beat the pipe at that point to clear the hulls.

Interesting idea tho.

it's not wider. from the center of the cylinder to the out side edge of the exaust boss is about 1/8" narrower than a 62t.

If you could make it fit do you think it would run pretty well. I mean if ya'll are
running the speedwerx pipe on your 8 mil PV Lamey's then I don't see why it wouldn't.:dunno:

if u can get it to fit, it should be nice, the speedwerx pipe is awesome, makes really good power.

By the way, the 800 motor is taller, where the exhaust outlet comes out is higher. The blaster top deck gets narrow as it goes up, I still think u are going to have clearance issues.

If I get a chance, I will give my speedwerx to erik and he can see if it will clear, might save u some time.

Well I know for a fact it won't fit on Erik's cuz his motor is on a slant where I think it might work with Jeff's mount kit being that it makes the motor vertical and adds some clearance.

I just got off the phone with Jeff and he said the manifold can not be flipped around, but they have considered modifying it to make that happen.

I think I might just try a Waterdawg pipe and see how that works...

since the exhaust ports and cooling passages are not symmetrical, from top to bottom, youll very likely have the problem of exhaust and/or cooling leaks.

Fly,
I don't think Erik's motor is on a slant.

Here is what you do, you get a peice of alluminum and make an adaptor plate, similar to what the guys have used to put B mod pipes on their 800s. If you can get the clearance issues worked out, this should be a pretty easy mod.

I wouldn't go with the waterdog pipe, it is a wet pipe and WAY expensive. If you were going to go wet pipe, just get a b mod and an adaptor plate and go at it.

that won't work. the 800 exhaust ports are WAY wider. you'd need an adapter plate at 1" wide or bigger. if you got it to flow properly you'd run out of side clearence.
