Waterdawg Foothold Install Day 1

If I may,
do your self a favor and cut down the floor of those foot holds to be level with the tray.
I know it's only 3/8 to 1/2" higher but it makes a difference.
Also the ankle cutouts should go further in on the sides.

Those 2 things I will be changing on mine as soon as I pull my finger out of my a$$ and rip the turf off.
One more thing I will be changing is where the foothold hits the very top of my foot. I think I need more space there as well just so I can add more padding.

just use a pad to make up the difference.

Boris

The Good Old Days
Have 25mm padding on the bottom.
I think that when I level the floor or even make the foothold floor slightly lower it will feel much better. The foot will slide into the hold easier and it will allow me to run more padding on top.
Even with the thick padding I still feel the raised part under foot at the end of a long day or a cruise.

Part of the fun of these skis is that you can always change things around just to suit you.

Day 4 all freaking Day and night

Never again. I think that was B/S. I dont like the Waterdawg holds. After spending 4 days installing them I don't even like them. My foot does not even fit in them. They have a bigger than normal hump in them where the top of your foot is, and I can't fit in there. I'm not happy at all with this project. The Rickers were so much easier to install and turf. Oh well I guess they have to do for now.

How do I do that when my foot won't even fit under the hump on the foothold?

do the shoes you wear have thick soles? I wears size 13s and have super wide feet and have no problem getting my feet in, even with lowtop air force 1s on(just what I was wearing when the install was finished). Need to get some wrestling shoes and will have even more room.

I know my feet barely squeeze in there in wrestling shoes, 1/2" pad and turf on the bottom an turf only on the top.

That said, I have really tall arches. The only hold I've tried that I found comfortable have been Klowners.

whos needs padding anways, the hydroturf is padded enough imo(molded diamond), at least for flatwater, i don't know falling from huge surf, but i have no problem without it on the lake.

I wear size 14 wrastlin shoe and have 25mm underpadding w/ moulded diamond turf in REV footholds. I don't pad the upper part of my foothold, just turf.

I don't know how you could ride w/o padding.. after a day of riding my feet would be bruised and beaten

Went to Orange Beach this past w/e. Could hardly get my food wedged into the holds. Had to kick hard just to get inot them, but still not close enough to line my leg up w/ the way there are suspposed too. So I just ordered 2 pair of wrestling shoes 11.5 and 12. Hope they work better than my current shoes.
