SX/SXi/SXi Pro WaterDawg Footholds

I am getting more and more into this stand up, its a hell of an addiction. i started riding last spring and i wanted to do a few things to my ski this winter. I added bars and a few small things during the summer but the winter was perfect for big projects. i am installing waterdawg footholds and hydroturf for now. hopefully i can get some extra cash for an aftermarket ride plate before spring. i do some body work every now and then so i'm not a stranger to bodno, but this is a bit different. hopefully tomorrow i can get the glass on to close it up. i will post more pics.

l just got finished enlarging my WDK footholds.Have you check you checked them with your feet in them and pad you are going to use?

i applied the first coat this morning. it's drying VERY slow so i'm hoping a can apply the second coat tonight.

i put a block off kt on a few weeks back and have been meaning to mess with the oil tank so while waiting for the resin to dry i cut up the oil tank and made it into a fire extinguisher holder and owners card holder. i wanted to put it back in the stock location after draining it because the strap helps hold down the gas tank.

i rode a 650 with the waterdawgs last simmer. they fit well so thats why i decided to use them and thats also why i left them unchanged. i am also using the same turf the 650 has.

What is D cut? And how do you plan on keeping the fire ex and registration in place?

D cut is a D shape notch cut in the back of the rideplate to let the tail sit lower in the water. It lets it spin around a turn quicker and rotate off the water faster. For the registration I have been getting it laminated and duct tapeing it to the hood liner. Have done it for the last 3 years with zero issues and I tried everything before. Here is a pic of my fire extinguisher mount, super simple. 2 hose clamps, 2 t-nuts and bolted through the hull, all you have to do is drill a hole for the t-nut to fit through on the hose clamp.

nice work did u use any padding on the inside of your holds

i did not add any padding before my turf, due to my budget and me being "thrifty" i didn't want to spend the money on it. i was originally going to make my footholds to, but i didn't think the time involved was worth it.

i might try to D cut the stock plate and extend the rear, i have a alum welder at my shop that should do the trick. are there any good threads on cutting the stock ride plate?

I cut mine about three inches wide and about 1 1/5 inches deep. I just used a cut off wheel and then a die grinder with s medium grit pad to make it look pretty. I'll post a pic after I get my little one to sleep.
I extended the rear of mine and hated it. Do tubbie's first other wise you will have too much nose pressure and it rides like sh$@. I had to cut my 4" extensions down to 2". I would really only add to the back if you want to race it. Not a good mod for freestyle. BTW. I put mine on due to pourposing which I later found out was caused 99% by me being a newb rider lol.

Here is a quick shot of the D-cut. Really works great for sliding around and jumping waves. That R&D plate is a extended pro series plate, it is awesome for high speed and carving. I also tried a worx concave plate (forgot the name) I bought it new and used it for about 5 minutes. Then sold it for half what I paid lol. I couldnt even turn without it spinning out.
