Here is a quick shot of the D-cut. Really works great for sliding around and jumping waves. That R&D plate is a extended pro series plate, it is awesome for high speed and carving. I also tried a worx concave plate (forgot the name) I bought it new and used it for about 5 minutes. Then sold it for half what I paid lol. I couldnt even turn without it spinning out.

awesome input on the ride plate and the pictures are great. free mods are the best, i am going to cut the ride plate up this weekend

i cut the stock one up and put it back on my ski. i traced a half circle using a roll of duct tape as my template and cut it using a jig saw. i was going to buy an extended ride plate this spring anyway, so it wasn't hard to cut the stock plate just to try out.

i finally got to test out the footholds out 2 weeks ago but they did not like my ankles! i tore the turf off the next day and cut the footholds up to make them more comfortable. i cut the tops out and re-glassed them, and i am now adding padding. i should have done this before hand but i never realized they would rub on my ankles this bad. hopefully after the trimming i did and the padding they should be good for daily rides!

and.... cutting the stock ride plate did raise the nose of the ski up, but it porpoises so much worse than before at high speeds. i'm probably going to get an extended ride plate for the type of riding i am doing.

I know what you mean about your ankles, I just rode mine Saturday for the first time since the holds were in. My ankles are rubbed raw lol, Im just gonna get some better shoes though. Blowsion has some nice jet pilot ones I've been looking at for a while. I like your tray mods though. Sorry you didn't like the d cut plate, I still love it for low speed stuff.

i rode a 650 with the waterdawgs last simmer. they fit well so thats why i decided to use them and thats also why i left them unchanged. i am also using the same turf the 650 has.

l thought you might have an issue with the waterdawg's.l should have ripped mine out and got tom21's footholds. They are really the best.

it almost seems as if they were designed for a wide tray. my feet are about shoulder width a part in and they rubbed bad on my upper ankles. Maybe waterdawg needs to come out with a foot holds II, hey redesigned version.

here is the before and after pics of the footholds. the FIRST picture shows water dawgs stock without being trimmed, and the SECOND picture is the water dawgs cut out to help my ankle rubbing.

Let us know how it turns out. I recently did mine and now I'm a little worried... If they rub bad I will have to suck it up, make it through the summer, and do the same this winter. CO summers are too short for me to mess with the ski.

Well I am going to have to do the same. This weekend was our first trip and I probably only rode an hour due to wind and waves. I was almost bleading though. Going to trim like you and might use a different matt where it rubs.

I went to walgreens and bought medium elbow supports, They fit my ankles nicely and completely stopped the flesh eating turf problem. At 8 bucks each I would suggest that before cutting and re turfing

well done.

hey ralph

any tips on turfing those bumpers ? wicked clean job there... teach me ? I have 1 sheet, will it do the whole boat ? 98 sxi pro

cheers.

Man that's why I love my XFT holds, they are like having your feet in pillows.

You are correct you can not get them but someone needs to copy them. Waterdog holds killed my feed, not in my ski but a friends.
