OK, let me start. This is not a thread to tread on the businesses that are selling this item, it is a thread to share information with people who really can't, and shouldn't have to afford to spend $20 or even $50 plus shipping on a $5 item (shipped).

Many of you have seen this item. It is a simple, waterproof 15A, 12V on/off switch. This switch is being sold on this site, and by other shops for up to $50. I am aware that posting this is going to cause people to rage, but again, it is about information availability, and is not a personal gouge at any sellers trying to turn this item be it here or any other site.

This switch is sold with free shipping, and this is likely the source of where these shops are getting them, and marking them up by 900% in some instances. I am not affiliated with this ebay shop, its owner, nor anyone that sells these switches. I am just sick of seeing people get ripped off heavily on a cheap electric item that works well.

The switch can be found here for $5 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Volt-Wat...Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c64bda975&vxp=mtr

That is it. Rage on.

Some people may have had good luck with these, but I went through two in just 3 rides (fresh water) and spend the money on a blowsion switch. ***note, absolutely nothing against the seller they were always extremely helpful. But these suck.

I also had one that broke from water exposure. But I think it was because I didn't use the rubber button cover and tried to encase it in a Polaris starter switch. I put more epoxy in it this time, and the second one has been working all season.

I found these earlier though and bought them off ebay! In case the ones these other guys are selling are a different product.

Me and 3 others run this switch from that ebay seller(great customer service). We had one go bad this last summer and that eBayer sent us a new one for free (lifetime warrenty).

We have learned that you need to put silicone around where the wires go into the switch at.

Be careful with cheap switches, you can kill a battery, as in destroy it from a slow continuous discharge which is a whole lot more $$ than a nice switch will cost you. Been there, done that.

People reselling items is nothing new, it's what Jetski Solutions started out doing by buying McMaster parts and stocking/reselling them.

BTW, the OP is a duplicate account obviously and I know who it is. To everyone on the site, we have a one account rule. It took me 45 seconds to figure out who it was.

How dare someone buy something for less than others and then mark it up for a profit. Uh, oh yeah thats capitalism, we need to stop this and move to socialism. Them guys at Ruger that can buy 4 guns a year and resell them need to make sure they sell them for what they paid for them. I guess the world needs to check with the OP before marking something up. Oh that doesnt need to happen because markets bare certain pricing and a consumer with decide. Does the OP know that contracters (in my experience) charge 20% just for handling and being the middle man. Also why the duplicate acct.? Say what ya gotta say under your original acct.

I have one of these and its gotten a little sticky... as in it doesn't always pop back when I switch it on or off. I asked the seller about the warranty in another thread but the $50 thing came up and I think he got distracted.

IMO this thread is like post dumping in a for sale thread.... a seller on this site offers these for more than the ebay price, and the phantom poster is dumping.

Do your due diligence before you buy something. /rant.
