Not really a pain in the ass but not ideal. Launch is alittle over a mile down the shore. Launch and ride to beach then catch a ride to car to bring car back to campground or stay parked at lot by launch. Sounds like more of a pain then it really is. There will be more then enough people there to help.

Usually you can get someone to drive your vehicle back not too much of a pain.

So is this a huge pain in the ass to launch and park? Don't wanna waste a 4 hr drive to mess around for 2 hrs trying to figure how to unload gas and skis and parking

Never an issue, come to camp first drop your gear, gas, tent, etc and mingle for a second if you are alone and ask for someone to drive your ski or tow rig back.

In 07 I had never been to a "freeride" before and recognized djkorns ski from the web. After talking with him for less than five min. We went and launched his ski and I drove his car back. I don't even think he had to ask....it's that kinda ride.

Then make sure you get a parking pass at the general store right by the ramp.

I was thinking about doing this as well, but that would require me to carry gas in tray since I only have a 2 gallon tank.

Swing in the campground and drop your gas and stuff off. I can or someone will be glad to carry it down to the beach.

Is anyone going to have a 2 or 3 place trailer there Thursday afternoon/evening I can borrow for 10 minutes to run to the launch? Our skis are in an enclosed trailer/camper and It's going to be a pain if I have to take that down there.

Wave report is crap, but at least the weather is supposed to be great...3 skis and a bunch of people from Lansing. We're bringing a DJ for the beach too

The boat launch is free, since that access is very shallow .

And the water is cooler than last year.

Also the ATM at the store is out of service.
